Thank You For A Great Day

We had a beautiful June day for our 2024 Great Grill Off. We had perfect weather to welcome 12 community grill teams and over 1,300 guests to the Wooster campus of Christian Children’s Home of Ohio for the big event.

The campus was filled with smiles as family and friends enjoyed inflatables, carnival games, train rides, tractor rides, and more. The energy was high, and everyone was enjoying an afternoon of great food and family fun!

At the conclusion of the event, the votes were tallied, and Lyfe Choices (two-time defending champion) was crowned the 2024 Burger Champion with their “Taco Smash Burger”. The Caring Closet took second place with their “Brunch Burger” and third place went to Beef ‘O’ Brady’s for their “Taco Tuesday Burger”. It was a very close competition this year. Congratulations and thank you to all our grill teams for their hard work and dedication.

As you can imagine, it takes a large team to bring this event together. Our day was a huge success due to the support of our generous sponsors and dedicated volunteers who helped us throughout the weekend. Special thanks to our event sponsors Powers Oil & Propane, Church of the Lakes, Coblentz Bros., Inc, Lehman’s, Ackerman Auto and Tire, Mennonite Mutual Insurance, The Commercial & Savings Bank, J&J Auto Wrecking, Kitty Poo Club, and Fredericksburg Church of Christ; Western Reserve Group, and Whitaker Myers Wealth Management in Mansfield, OH for providing volunteers before the event; Mohican Church for providing tents; Village Catering for providing pasta salad; Frito-Lay for providing chips; SmithFoods for providing ice cream; Buehler’s; RiseFM; Meijer; Wayne County Sheriff’s Office; Central Fire/EMS Department; and to our numerous day-before and day-of volunteers and all our community grill teams!

Thank You From Our Hearts

The forecasted storms stayed away, and we had amazing weather to welcome 14 community grill teams and over 1,300 guests to the Wooster campus of Christian Children’s Home of Ohio for the big event. It was our biggest competition yet as the teams competed to win over the tastebuds and votes of the crowd with their mouthwatering sliders.

Your 2022 Grill Teams

We are excited for our Tenth Annual Great Grill Off on Sunday, June 12 from 12:30-3:30pm on CCHO’s campus. With less than a month away from the big event, it’s time to reveal your 2022 grill teams. With five returning grill teams and nine new grill teams, this will be our biggest year yet, so you won’t want to miss it! We hope you’ll join us for an afternoon of delicious food and family fun.

Look at this great lineup!

The 10th Annual Great Grill Off is Heating Up!

Our 10th Annual Great Grill Off will take place on Sunday, June 12 from 12:30-3:30pm on the CCHO campus. Our talented community grill teams will attempt to win over your tastebuds and your vote with mouthwatering “specialty burger” slider creations in our burger competition. As the event gets closer, we’ll reveal the teams and their recipes.

Come enjoy picnic classics like hamburgers, hot dogs, pasta salad, chips, ice cream, and more. Bring the kids for carnival games, bounce houses, hayrides, plus many other fun activities. Limited seating will be available so feel free to bring your own blankets and/or lawn chairs.

The Great Grill Off is a free community event for the whole family. Donations of any size at the gate are always appreciated. Your support helps a child feel safe, often for the very first time, and receive trauma care in our children’s residential center.

We are looking forward to a fierce (and delicious!) competition for the best burger award and we hope to see you there!
